The majority of Dutch pancakes contain gluten. Following a gluten free diet and don’t want to give up one of your favourite Dutch treats? Then these yummy Dutch pancakes, prepared using a ready-made gluten-free pancake mix, are especially for you!
First pop the gluten free mix for pancakes into a mixing bowl and add in the required amounts of water and butter, as indicated in the instructions on the packaging. Stir thoroughly until it forms a smooth batter, and add in a few slices of apple, some grated Dutch cheese or pieces of bacon if desired. Bake the gluten-free Dutch pancakes for approx. 3 minutes or until golden brown (read this blog to learn how to bake perfect Dutch pancakes) and then serve in the traditional Dutch manner, with lashings of pouring syrup and a dusting of icing sugar.
