Dutch supermarkets are simply overflowing with fresh summer fruits and vegetables throughout August. So why not make full use of nature’s bounty by combining them in a delicious Dutch summer salad?

Ingredients

1 bag of mixed salad leaves
1 avocado
100 grams of goat's cheese
1 cup of unroasted walnuts
250 grams of fresh strawberries
Lemon juice
Olive oil
Black pepper

Dutch recipe for salade met aardbeien

Preparation

First empty the bag of mixed lettuce leaves into a bowl. Next peel the avocado, remove the stone, cut into pieces, drizzle with a little lemon juice and then mix into the salad. Now coarsely chop the walnuts and crumble the goat’s cheese, and sprinkle both over the salad. Next rinse the strawberries, remove their stalks, cut into chunks or slices, and mix these directly into the salad. Finally, stir in a little fresh lemon juice, some olive oil and season with black pepper. Delicious served as a starter with freshly baked baguette!
