No oven to hand, yet still fancy a delicious cheesecake? Then try this irresistible no-bake recipe for ‘MonChoutaart’ – made using traditional Dutch Bastogne biscuits.
First remove the cream cheese from the fridge and leave to soften for approximately one hour. Meanwhile, grease a spring form cake tin (of 26 cm diameter) with butter. Next melt the remaining butter in a saucepan and stir in the crumbled Bastogne biscuits. Spoon this mixture onto the bottom of the spring form cake tin and pop into the refrigerator for around one hour. Now place the cream cheese and sugar into a mixing bowl and thoroughly mix. Take a separate mixing bowl and beat the cream until almost stiff, before stirring in the freshly prepared cream cheese mixture. Next cover the Bastogne biscuit bottom with the cream cheese mixture and pop back into your refrigerator for a further 2 hours. Once set, cut the MonChoutaart into slices and top each portion which fresh cherries before serving.
