Dutch veggie skewers

At last it’s finally BBQ weather! Fancy giving your next barbecue a sizzling Dutch twist? Then try this mouth-watering recipe for vegetarian kebabs!


1 red onion
1 white onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 courgette
½ cup of small mushrooms
½ cup of cherry tomatoes
Rosemary (fresh or dried)
Salt and pepper

Dutch veggie kebab recipe


First rinse the peppers, courgette and tomatoes, gently clean the mushrooms using kitchen towel, and peel the onions. Now cut the onions and peppers into bite-sized chunks, slice the courgettes and then thread all of the vegetables onto the skewers. Finally, sprinkle with a little fresh or dried rosemary, season with salt and pepper, place onto the barbecue and grill for approx. 5 to 8 minutes. Serve with a selection of typical Dutch BBQ sauces, including Calvé Shashlik Sauce, Calvé Samba Sauce or Calvé Garlic Sauce.
