Aardbeientaart (strawberry tart)

Strawberries are back in season – the perfect excuse for a delicious strawberry tart! An added advantage of this particular Dutch strawberry tart recipe is that it requires no baking and is thus quick and easy to prepare!

1 pack of LU Bastogne biscuits
50 grams of butter
500 grams of strawberries
1 can of whipped cream
5 sheets of gelatine

Dutch recipe for strawberry trat

Pop the butter into a mixing bowl and leave to soften at room temperature. Next crumble the Bastogne biscuits over the butter and thoroughly mix. Spoon this mixture into a tart or baking tin and press down firmly. Now soak the gelatine for a few minutes in cold water. Meanwhile puree the strawberries in a food processor. Next heat half of the strawberry puree in a pan and then stir in the gelatine. Remove the pan from the heat and add in the rest of the strawberry puree. Now gently stir the cream into the strawberry puree, before pouring over the biscuit mix. Finally, place your strawberry tart into the refrigerator for a few hours prior to serving with a vibrant topping of fresh strawberries. Yum!
