Botersla met krokante spekjes (butter lettuce salad with crispy bacon)

Fancy a fresh spring salad? Then try this lovely recipe for butter lettuce salad with crispy bacon – a delicious side dish or an ideal light lunch. Serves 1 to 2.

Ingredients

1 bag of butter lettuce
100 grams of lean bacon cubes
1 egg
1 tomato
1 small red onion
50 grams of grated Dutch cheese
1 bag of Calvé honey mustard dressing

Preparation

First place the bacon into a non-stick frying pan, gently fry in its own fat (so without any added butter or oil), and then leave to drain and cool on some kitchen towel. Next hard boil the egg and cut into slices, chop the tomato and finely slice the red onion. Now empty the bag of butter lettuce into a large bowl and top with the bacon, egg, tomato and onion. Prepare the salad dressing according to the instructions on the packaging and drizzle some over the salad. Finally, sprinkle over the grated Dutch cheese and serve your salad with freshly baked baguette or ciabattinas. Yum!
