Fancy an authentic beef rendang? Thanks to our simple, yet fragrant recipe below, you can now make this spicy Indonesian favourite at home!
500 grams of lean beef steak
1 packet of Conimex Boemboe Rendang Meat
2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
First chop the onion and cut the beef steak into cubes. Next heat the sunflower oil in a wok or frying pan and gently fry the onions until transparent. Add in the cubed beef and fry on all sides. Now add in the rendang paste, together with 300 ml of water and bring to the boil whilst constantly stirring. Cover the pan and simmer for approximately 1 hour on a low heat. For the last 10 minutes of cooking, remove the lid and continue to simmer. Serve with white rice, atjar tjampoer, seroendeng and Indonesian prawn crackers. Delicious!
