Atjar tjampoer (sweet and sour pickled vegetables) is one of the most popular Indonesian side dishes in the Netherlands. Now you can learn how to make this delicious Dutch/Indonesian favourite at home.
175 ml of vinegar
½ a small white cabbage
3 tbsp. of sugar
½ tsp. of ground turmeric
½ tsp. of ground coriander
175 ml of water
Simply pop the water, vinegar, sugar and spices into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Meanwhile, grate the carrot and cabbage, and then add them to the pan. Simmer on a low heat for a further 10 minutes. Now leave the atjar tjampoer to cool before placing in your refrigerator for several hours prior to serving.
