Appelcake (apple cake)

Treat family and friends to something special with a delicious slice of typical Dutch apple cake – perfect with your favourite cuppa!

Ingredients:

1 pack of Honig cake mix
150g of butter
4 eggs
50 ml of milk
3 apples
Powdered sugar (optional)

Dutch apple cake

Preparation:

Preheat your oven to 160 C. Meanwhile, peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Next add the butter into a mixing bowl and beat with a whisk until soft and creamy. Add in the cake mix, eggs and milk and beat into a smooth and fluffy batter. Pour the batter into a cake tin and push in the pieces of apple. Place the cake tin onto the middle shelf of your oven and bake for approx. 1 hour or until golden brown. Leave the cake to cool for a few minutes before removing from the cake tin and sprinkling generously with icing sugar.
