Scholfilets met spek (plaice fillets with bacon)

Fancy some fish with attitude? Then try these delicious plaice fillets served with bacon for added flavour.

Ingredients:

4 plaice fillets
100g of breadcrumbs
1 knob of butter
200g of bacon (sliced)
4 slices of lemon

Dutch recipe for plaice with bacon

Preparation:

First coat the plaice fillets in breadcrumbs. Next, heat the butter in a frying pan and gently fry the plaice fillets on both sides for about 6 minutes, or until lightly browned. Meanwhile, fry the bacon in a separate pan until brown (but not too crisp). Once ready, pop the plaice fillets onto a plate and top with bacon and a slice of lemon. Serve with new potatoes, spinach and apple sauce.
