Tjap Tjoi (chop suey)

Tjap tjoi (chop suey in English) is one of the most popular Chinese dishes in the Netherlands. And now you can make an authentic Tjap tjoi at home using our simple recipe below!

250g of chicken breast
1 packet of Conimex Tjap tjoi mix
500g Chinese vegetable mix
1 tbsp. of sunflower oil

Chinese chop suey Dutch style

Cut the chicken into thin strips and then heat a splash of sunflower oil in a frying pan or wok. Fry the chicken strips on a high heat, stirring continuously until golden brown and thoroughly cooked, before removing from the pan. Now place the vegetable mix into the same pan and cook thoroughly on a high heat for a few minutes. Next sprinkle the Tjap Tjoi mix into the vegetables and pour in approx. ½ litre of water. Leave to simmer for 5 minutes before adding the chicken breast strips back to the pan for a few more minutes. Serve your Tjap Tjoi with rice and prawn crackers.
